The tank-aged 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is 85% Grenache, with the balance equally divided among Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Scents of ripe cherries and cola spice emerge on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, concentrated and richly textured, with a long finish marked by softly dusty tannins.

The following 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape wines were all tasted in my home office in non-blind tasting conditions. 2019 Dauvergne Ranvier Grand Vin – Medium-bodied, lighter-styled, forward, kirsch and cherry-filled, soft, silky-textured wine that will offer a lot of charm in its early drinking youth.
