My sister is looking at getting a polo 1.2 tdi 2012 for R120000 and has 130k kms from vw pre owned. Main purpose is to drive +- 15km to work and back everyday. No racing or heavy driving. How does it compare to the 1.2 tsi in terms of efficiency and reliability and maintenance. Are these 3 cyl 1.2s worth it or should we be looking at another car.

Now I have fault codes: P2463 and P2563. Coil light, exhaust light and engine light on with limp mode permanently. The turbo was repaired before the DPF was removed.

Re: VW Polo - Maintenance and Service cost and dos/don'ts. 1.2 petrol polo definitely takes 3L. Cedia which is 2.0 takes 3.8 L of engine oil and civic which is 1.8L takes 3.7L of oil. I am a bit skeptical about the diesel, but somehow I feel, even the 1.2 Diesel also takes 3L of oil..
